FISSURE Playground 3 Schedule for September 9: G2 vs BIG and FaZe vs magic

Eight BO3 series, four playoff places and four eliminations. The second day of FISSURE Playground 3 divides the field into two completely different races.

G2, FaZe and The MongolZ enter the server without a safety net after losing their opening matches. Meanwhile, 9z, Alliance, Astralis, BetBoom, MIBR, Legacy, FURIA and PARIVISION are one victory away from securing a playoff spot.

The elimination series are played during the 03:00 and 09:00 blocks. The winners of the four upper-bracket matches at 06:00 and 12:00 will guarantee themselves a place in the playoffs.

G2 and FaZe Have No Safety Net

The biggest names of the day appear in the lower bracket.

G2 lost their opening series against Astralis despite leading Ancient 8:4 after the first half and winning a 36-round Mirage. They managed only one round after the side switch on Ancient and then lost Inferno 5:13.

BIG also started with a defeat, losing 0:2 to BetBoom. Both maps remained competitive, but the German team failed to convert either Cache or Nuke.

That sets up an elimination match between two teams that entered the tournament with significantly higher expectations. One of them will finish FISSURE Playground 3 after only two series.

FaZe face the same risk against magic. Alliance swept FaZe on the opening day, while magic took one map from Legacy before losing the Mirage decider 14:16. FaZe may carry the bigger name, but the first day provided little evidence of a comfortable matchup.

The MongolZ Must Recover After Losing Their Lead

The MongolZ started their tournament by beating MIBR 13:5 on Ancient. They could not finish the series, losing Mirage 10:13 and Inferno 12:16.

Their next opponent, 5star, suffered the most one-sided defeat of the opening day. The Mongolian team lost 3:13 on Cache and 4:13 on Nuke against 9z.

The MongolZ remain the clear favorite based on experience and individual level, but the MIBR series exposed a major problem: a strong opening map did not translate into control of the full BO3.

FURIA and Astralis Face the Final Qualification Tests

PARIVISION reached the upper bracket without dropping a map against TYLOO. Their 13:4 victory on Ancient was one of the most convincing individual map results of the day.

FURIA followed a different route. They lost Cache to GamerLegion but recovered on Mirage before dominating Dust2 13:3.

In Group A, BetBoom and Astralis meet after eliminating BIG and G2 from the upper bracket. BetBoom won both of their opening maps, while Astralis survived a three-map series and looked strongest on the deciding Inferno.

Today Is About More Than Team Names

Four established teams can leave Suzhou today, while four opening-round winners will secure playoff places.

Recent form, map pools, roster stability and the ability to adjust between maps already changed several expected outcomes on day one. Rankings describe the level a team has shown over time. They do not automatically describe the team that will appear on the server today.
