Agility

Agility is a core Dota 2 attribute that increases armor and attack speed and contributes to attack damage for Agility-primary heroes.

What is Agility in Dota 2?

Agility combines offensive tempo with physical defense. More Agility improves a hero’s attack speed and adds armor, which means the same stat can help a hero attack more frequently while also reducing incoming physical damage.

For Agility-primary heroes, Agility also contributes to main attack damage. This combination makes Agility especially efficient for many right-click-focused heroes, but the stat is still useful on other heroes when armor or attack speed is valuable.

How Agility is used in a match

Agility helps heroes that benefit from repeated attacks, attack modifiers, and on-hit effects because more attack speed creates more opportunities to apply them. The armor component can also make an Agility-heavy hero much harder to kill with physical damage than the raw health pool suggests.

Players still have to balance Agility against health and other defenses. High armor does not protect well against magical or pure damage, so stacking Agility alone can leave a hero vulnerable to a different damage profile.

Do not confuse Agility with...

Agility is not movement speed. It improves attack speed and armor, not the normal movement-speed stat. A hero can have very high Agility and still move slowly without separate movement bonuses.
