Blind
Blind is a debuff that makes the affected unit’s attacks miss more often, reducing attack reliability without preventing the unit from issuing attack commands.
What is Blind in Dota 2?
Blind applies miss chance to the attacker. The unit can still attack normally, but some of those attacks fail to connect. Blind therefore reduces attack-based damage and on-hit value without directly disarming the hero.
Blind interacts with evasion and accuracy, but it is a separate mechanic. Evasion belongs to the unit being attacked, while blind is applied to the attacker. True Strike and accuracy effects can improve the chance that attacks connect despite miss mechanics.
How Blind is used in a match
Blind is most valuable against heroes that rely on repeated attacks for damage, lifesteal, or on-hit effects. Applying it during an enemy’s offensive timing can reduce the amount of pressure they create even though they remain free to move and cast spells.
Because blind does not stop attacks completely, it is less deterministic than disarm. Teams may prefer disarm when they need guaranteed attack prevention and blind when they want a longer or more efficient reduction in attack reliability.
Do not confuse Blind with...
Blind affects the attacker by adding miss chance. Evasion protects the target by giving incoming attacks a chance to fail. Disarm is stronger in a different way: it prevents the unit from attacking at all instead of allowing attacks that may miss.
