Twin Gates
Twin Gates are paired map structures that let a hero channel a teleport from one gate to the other, connecting distant sides of the map.
What is Twin Gates in Dota 2?
Twin Gates create a fixed long-distance connection between opposite parts of the Dota 2 map. A hero interacts with one gate, channels the Warp, and arrives at the paired gate without walking the full distance. This makes the gates useful for fast rotations between side lanes, jungle areas and corner objectives.
Using a Twin Gate is not automatically safe. The channel can be interrupted by relevant control, and the exit may be watched or occupied by enemies. Because their positions and surrounding terrain can change with map patches, players need current map knowledge to use them efficiently.
How Twin Gates is used in a match
Supports often use Twin Gates to turn a side-lane fight into a sudden numbers advantage. A player can also pressure one side of the map, pass through the gate, and appear near another wave or objective before the enemy finishes rotating normally.
Good teams watch both entrances when they expect a gate rotation. Vision near the destination matters because a fast movement option becomes dangerous if the enemy is already waiting on the other side.
Do not confuse Twin Gates with...
Twin Gates are fixed paired structures. Teleport is the broader mechanic that includes Town Portal Scrolls and other sources, while an Outpost is a capturable teleport destination rather than a gate to one paired location.
