Spirit Lost One Map in Twelve: BLAST Open Porto 2026 Results and Analysis

Five series, 12 maps and only one defeat. Team Spirit completed a dominant BLAST Open Porto 2026 run by beating MOUZ 3:1 in the grand final.

The tournament ran from August 26 to September 6, bringing 16 teams together for a $1.1 million event split between Copenhagen and Porto. Spirit arrived in Portugal as the world number one and left with a second consecutive trophy after their Esports World Cup victory.

BLAST Open Porto 2026 Grand Final Result

Team Spirit 3:1 MOUZ
Dust2: 13:8
Mirage: 11:13
Ancient: 13:3
Nuke: 13:6

Spirit opened the final by repeatedly exploiting MOUZ B defense on Dust2. The first half ended 6:6, but Spirit controlled the CT side and closed the map 13:8.

MOUZ responded with the best comeback of the final. Spirit led 11:4 on Mirage, but MOUZ won nine consecutive rounds to steal their map pick 13:11.

That comeback changed the score, but not the direction of the series. Spirit immediately answered with a 13:3 demolition on Ancient and completed the final with a 13:6 victory on Nuke. Across the last two maps, Spirit won 26 of 35 rounds.

Spirit Finished the Tournament With an 11:1 Map Record

Spirit won all three group-stage matches 2:0, including series against G2 and FURIA. They then defeated Falcons 2:0 in the semifinal before losing their only map of the tournament to MOUZ.

Calculated from those results, Spirit finished BLAST Open Porto with an 11:1 map record.

The run also showed why map pools matter more than a single overall team rating. Spirit entered Ancient on a 14-map winning streak and extended it to 15 with the 13:3 victory. Donk produced a rating above 2.30 on the map, while MOUZ never found a stable defense.

Donk Won the MVP, but Spirit Did Not Depend on One Player

Donk finished the tournament with a 1.40 rating and received his second consecutive MVP award. It was his 10th Big Event MVP and moved him ahead of NiKo on the all-time list.

However, the final was not a one-player performance. Sh1ro led Spirit with a 1.36 rating, followed by donk at 1.28, tN1R at 1.27 and zont1x at 1.24. Four Spirit players finished above 1.20, while no MOUZ player reached a 1.00 rating.

Sh1ro was also the best-rated player of the playoffs at 1.31. Donk secured the MVP through his higher overall level, stronger group stage and major peaks on Ancient and Nuke.

This is the most important development in Spirit current form. Donk remains the team’s biggest win condition, but sh1ro, tN1R and zont1x can now decide maps when he starts slowly.

MOUZ Remain Contenders, but Their Floor Is Still Too Low

MOUZ reached the final after winning their group and defeating Vitality 2:0 in the semifinal. Their nine-round comeback on Mirage proved that the team can challenge Spirit tactically and mentally.

The problem was consistency across a BO5. MOUZ won one exceptional map but lost the other three by a combined score of 30:50. Dust2 exposed their defensive problems, Ancient collapsed almost immediately, and their economy broke during the decisive stretch on Nuke.

Xelex still completed his best tier-one event so far and finished third in HLTV’s ranking of the tournament’s top performers. Spinx also returned to stronger form, but neither could reproduce their earlier level in the final.

Final BLAST Open Porto 2026 Standings

1st: Team Spirit
2nd: MOUZ
3rd-4th: Vitality, Falcons
5th-6th: FURIA, G2
7th-8th: FUT, Aurora
9th-12th: Legacy, Inner Circle, M80, NAVI
13th-16th: Lynn Vision, 9z, paiN, DENDELE

Falcons and Vitality both reached the semifinals, but neither won a map there. Falcons defeated G2 2:0 before losing 0:2 to Spirit, while Vitality recovered from an opening-map defeat against FURIA before MOUZ eliminated them 2:0.

What BLAST Open Porto Tells Us About the CS2 Scene

Spirit are no longer simply the team with the highest individual ceiling. Their 11:1 map record shows a deeper advantage built around map control, multiple win conditions and the ability to reset after losing momentum.

MOUZ remain the closest challenger. They beat Spirit 3:1 in the previous BLAST Bounty final and took the only map from them in Porto, but Spirit reversed that result when the larger title was on the line.

For predictive analysis, Porto delivered three clear lessons:

  • Recent form must carry more weight than reputation. Spirit converted their EWC momentum into another title;
  • Map-specific strength can decide an entire series. Spirit Ancient streak gave them a reliable reset after losing Mirage;
  • A BO5 tests depth, not only peak performance. MOUZ produced one brilliant comeback but could not maintain that level across four maps.

The tournament ended with donk holding another MVP medal, but Spirit biggest achievement was proving they can win through more than one player. That makes their current position at the top much harder to challenge.
