PGL Wallachia Season 9 Results: Team Yandex Win, NAVI Surprise

Team Yandex won PGL Wallachia Season 9 after defeating NAVI 3:0 in the Grand Final. The champions earned $300,000, while NAVI received $175,000 for second place.

The final was one-sided. The tournament was not.

Team Yandex confirmed their status as the main favorite, NAVI produced an unexpected lower-bracket run, and several teams failed to convert a strong group stage into a serious title challenge.

Was Team Yandex’s Victory Obvious?

Team Yandex entered the tournament as the strongest team on paper. They had recently finished third at The International 2026 and arrived in Bucharest with ATF replacing DM in the offlane.

That made them favorites, but not guaranteed champions. It was the team’s first tournament with ATF, while the post-TI roster shuffle created plenty of uncertainty across the entire field.

The uncertainty disappeared quickly.

Team Yandex finished the Swiss stage with a 3:0 record, defeating MOUZ, Team Nemesis and NAVI. In the playoffs, they beat 1w, Aurora Gaming, LGD Gaming and NAVI without dropping a single series.

Their complete tournament record was 15 map wins and only two losses. Team Yandex also defeated NAVI twice, 2:0 in the group stage and 3:0 in the Grand Final.

The title was expected. This level of control was not.

The first map of the final lasted only 25 minutes and ended with a 27:9 kill score. NAVI extended the second game to 44 minutes, but Team Yandex still dictated the series and closed the final map in 27 minutes.

NAVI Were the Biggest Surprise

NAVI’s second-place finish was more impressive than the 0:3 Grand Final score suggests.

They completed the Swiss stage with a 3:1 record, losing only to Team Yandex. Their playoff run then started with a 1:2 defeat against LGD Gaming, which sent them into the lower bracket without any room for another mistake.

NAVI responded with four consecutive elimination victories:

• 2:1 against Team Nemesis
• 2:0 against Aurora Gaming
• 2:0 against Xtreme Gaming
• 2:1 against LGD Gaming

They defeated three of the tournament’s strongest playoff teams and took revenge on LGD to reach the Grand Final.

NAVI were not ready to challenge Team Yandex in a BO5, but their first LAN of the new season still ended with a final appearance and $175,000. More importantly, they proved that their recent results were not built only on weaker opposition.

Who Else Surprised?

LGD Gaming deserve credit for finishing third. They needed all five Swiss rounds to reach the playoffs, but then defeated NAVI and swept the previously unbeaten Xtreme Gaming. Their run ended only after losses to Team Yandex and NAVI.

Team Nemesis were another positive surprise. Despite playing with stand-ins, they reached the playoffs with a 3:2 record and even took a map from NAVI in the lower bracket.

Neither team challenged for the trophy, but both performed above the expectations created during the opening days.

Who Disappointed?

Xtreme Gaming finished the group stage with a perfect 3:0 record and looked like Team Yandex’s main rival. Their playoff form told a different story.

They lost 0:2 to LGD Gaming and later 0:2 to NAVI. Fourth place is respectable, but a team that entered the playoffs unbeaten was expected to offer more resistance in the decisive series.

MOUZ also failed to meet expectations. The team finished the Swiss stage at 2:3 and missed the playoffs after a 0:2 loss to LGD Gaming in the qualification match.

1w reached the playoffs, but their run ended after consecutive defeats against Team Yandex and GamerLegion. The absence of Pure and the use of shad as a stand-in provide context, but seventh-eighth place was still below the team’s expected level.

Final Verdict

Was Team Yandex’s victory obvious? Before the tournament, no. They were the strongest favorite, but a new offlaner and the first event after a major roster shuffle created real risk.

After the Swiss stage, the prediction became much clearer. Team Yandex were winning different types of games, controlling drafts and rarely allowing opponents to turn an advantage into a comeback.

NAVI produced the opposite story. Few predictions had them reaching the Grand Final, but four lower-bracket victories changed the perception of the team.

PGL Wallachia Season 9 showed why a prediction should consider current form, roster changes, drafts and tournament progression instead of relying only on team names.
