G2 and MIBR reach FISSURE Playground 3 semifinals

Four maps, two clean sweeps. G2 and MIBR claimed the final semifinal spots at FISSURE Playground 3 on September 11.

The quarterfinal results:

G2 2:0 FURIA
Ancient: 16:14
Dust2: 13:3
MIBR 2:0 Alliance
Inferno: 13:4
Cache: 13:9

G2 survive overtime and take control

FURIA pushed G2 all the way to overtime on Ancient, but G2 closed the map 16:14. Dust2 was far less competitive: G2 built a 9:3 halftime lead and won four straight rounds after the side switch to finish the series.

MIBR shut down Alliance

MIBR dominated Alliance’s Inferno pick 13:4, winning every round in the second half. Alliance offered more resistance on Cache, but MIBR remained in control and secured a 13:9 victory.

Both quarterfinals ended 2:0, but their opening maps told very different stories. G2 needed overtime, while MIBR controlled Inferno from the first half. Series scores show the outcome, but map form reveals how the teams reached it.
