Game Changers Americas LCQ 2026

Riot Games has confirmed the full lineup, format and schedule for the 2026 Game Changers Americas Last Chance Qualifier, where MIBR, Akave Esports Black and FlyQuest RED will compete for the region's final place at the Game Changers Championship.

The LCQ will take place on October 14 and 15 at the Riot Games Arena in São Paulo. Both days will be played on LAN with a live audience. Only one of the three teams will qualify for the world championship.

Who is playing in the Americas LCQ?

The LCQ brings together one team from each of the three Game Changers circuits in the Americas. Brazil will be represented by MIBR, Latin America by Akave Esports Black, and North America by FlyQuest RED. Each team arrives as the runner-up from its respective regional circuit. The three regions already have one confirmed team at the Game Changers Championship:

The LCQ winner will become the fourth Americas representative at the world championship.

How the Game Changers Americas LCQ works

The tournament starts with a three-team round robin on October 14. Every team plays the other two once, with all three group matches played as best-of-three series. When the round robin ends, the top two teams advance to the final. The final will take place on October 15 and uses a best-of-five format. There is no extended playoff bracket. One day determines the top two, and the second day decides the final qualification spot.

October 14 schedule

The first day begins at 11:00 AM PT / 18:00 UTC.

The match order is:

The second and third series will begin after the preceding match is completed rather than at fixed published start times. With only three teams in the group, every map and series can have an immediate impact on the final standings.

The final takes place October 15

The top two teams from the round robin will return on October 15 for a Bo5 final. Riot lists the final for 1:00 PM PT / 20:00 UTC.

The winner takes the final Americas qualification slot for the Game Changers Championship 2026. The losing team is eliminated from the race for the world event.

How ties will be decided

With three teams playing a single round robin, a three-way tie is possible. Riot will use the same general tiebreaker criteria applied at global events to determine the standings. There are also competitive advantages attached to a perfect first day. If one team finishes the round robin with two victories, it receives two bans and pick priority for the Bo5 final. If all three teams finish tied, the team placed first by the tournament's tiebreaker criteria receives pick priority in the final. That makes the group stage important even for teams that already know they have qualified for Day 2.

What is at stake in São Paulo?

The winner joins Team Liquid Visa, KRÜ Blaze and Shopify Rebellion Gold as the four Americas teams at Game Changers Championship 2026. The world championship will also take place in São Paulo, running from October 22 through November 1. That gives the LCQ winner only a short turnaround between qualification and the start of the season's biggest Game Changers tournament. For MIBR, Akave and FlyQuest RED, the two-day LAN is therefore the final opportunity to extend their 2026 season onto the global stage.
