9z Overtake Vitality in Valve August 2026 CS2 Ranking
Valve has released its latest global CS2 ranking, and the biggest surprise is 9z rise to fourth place. The South American roster has moved ahead of Vitality, who have dropped outside the monthly VRS top four for the first time in two years.
The current top five:
Team Spirit - 2,011 points
Falcons - 1,950 points
MOUZ - 1,873 points
9z - 1,847 points
Vitality - 1,836 points
Only 11 points separate 9z and Vitality, meaning another strong tournament run could quickly change their positions.
Why Are 9z Ranked Above Vitality?
9z climbed the standings after a series of strong LAN performances, including their victory at XSE Pro League Guangzhou. Vitality, meanwhile, lost ranking points during the same period and fell to fifth place.
However, the VRS table does not necessarily suggest that 9z would be favorites in a direct match against Vitality. Valve’s system evaluates the accumulated results of a specific roster, including the quality of defeated opponents, LAN performances, prize money, head-to-head results and the age of each result.
The August update also carries practical importance, as it will be used to distribute invitations to several upcoming major tournaments. For 9z, fourth place is therefore more than a symbolic achievement, it could directly improve the team’s path through the rest of the season.
