All EWC 2026 Playoff Day 1 Matches Went to a Decider

All Four Opening EWC 2026 Playoff Series Went to a Decider

The opening day of the Esports World Cup 2026 CS2 playoffs produced the maximum possible number of maps. All four BO3 series went to a decider, meaning teams played 12 out of 12 possible maps.

EWC 2026 Playoff Day 1 Results

• G2 2:1 Astralis
• FUT 2:1 magic
• FURIA 2:1 Aurora
• MOUZ 2:1 GamerLegion

There were no 2:0 sweeps across the entire opening playoff day. Every matchup reached a third map, setting the tone for an extremely competitive knockout stage.

The deciders delivered some of the biggest swings of the day as well.

FURIA recovered from a 3:9 deficit on Mirage before completing a 2:1 victory over Aurora.

MOUZ produced an even more dramatic turnaround on Nuke. They trailed 2:10 at halftime, but won the map 13:11 to eliminate GamerLegion and advance.

With all four opening playoff matches going the distance, EWC 2026 has started its knockout stage with virtually no room between the teams.
