BLAST Open Porto Results for August 26: M80 Upset NAVI

BLAST Open Porto 2026 began with three clean sweeps and one major upset.

M80 recovered from a 13-4 loss on the opening map to beat NAVI 2-1. G2, Team Spirit and FURIA all started their Group A campaigns with 2-0 victories.

NAVI Dominate One Map and Disappear on the Next Two

The series started exactly as the rankings suggested. NAVI controlled M80’s Anubis pick from the opening rounds and closed the map 13-4.

That was where the expected script ended.

M80 responded with two identical 13-6 victories on Mirage and Inferno. The decider was tied 6-6 at halftime, but the North American team then produced a flawless seven-round Terrorist side.

JBa sealed the result with a one-versus-three clutch for match point and finished as M80’s highest-rated player in the series.

The most revealing number is not NAVI’s 13-4 opening win. It is the 12 total rounds they managed across the next two maps.

M80 did not steal two close finishes. They took complete control of the series after losing the opener.

The result becomes even more surprising when the rankings are compared. NAVI entered the match at No. 8 in the HLTV world ranking, while M80 sat at No. 38. It was M80’s first victory over a top-10 opponent since March 31.

After the match, iM admitted NAVI may have underestimated their opponents following the dominant first map. He also pointed to mistimed calls, a lost anti-eco round and a lack of confidence.

NAVI now drop into the Group A lower bracket, where they will face paiN in an elimination series. Their route to the playoffs requires three consecutive wins.

Spirit Return With Two donk Aces

Team Spirit needed only two maps to beat DENDELE three days after lifting the Esports World Cup trophy.

donk delivered two aces on Cache and became the first player to reach 20 ace rounds at CS2 events eligible for an HLTV MVP award. ZywOo and NiKo are next on the list with 18 each.

G2 Recover From 7-12 Against Aurora

G2 opened the tournament with a 2-0 victory, but the final score hides how close Aurora came to forcing a third map.

Aurora led 12-7 on Anubis before G2 won nine consecutive rounds to finish the comeback at 16-12. r1nkle recorded 32 kills and a 1.86 rating on the second map.

FURIA produced the most dominant result of the day. They defeated paiN 13-2 on Mirage and 13-6 on Cache, allowing only eight rounds across the entire Brazilian derby.

The next Group A round will feature:

The first two matches will move one winner closer to the playoffs. The other two will eliminate a team from the tournament.
