Falcons remain the last team to defeat Spirit. Today they meet again, but this time Spirit enter the matchup on a nine-series winning streak.

Falcons Have Already Stopped Spirit Once

Falcons defeated Spirit 2:1 in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 semifinal on June 20. Spirit have responded with nine consecutive series wins since that loss.

Spirit have not dropped a map at BLAST Open Porto. They swept DENDELE, G2 and FURIA to finish the group stage with a perfect 6:0 map record and qualify directly for the semifinals.

Falcons took the longer route. They defeated G2 2:0 in the quarterfinal after winning 20 of the first 24 rounds across the two maps. Now the last team to beat Spirit will try to stop their new winning streak.

jL Faces Another Former Team

MOUZ reached the semifinals directly after beating Falcons 2:1 in the Group B upper-bracket final. Youngster xelex recorded a 1.37 rating during the group stage, the third-highest at the event at that point.

Vitality started the tournament with a surprise 0:2 defeat against Inner Circle but recovered through the lower bracket. In the quarterfinal, they lost the opening map to FURIA before taking Cache 13:11 and dominating Dust2 13:4.

There is also a personal storyline for jL. He is standing in for mezii at Vitality and will now face MOUZ, another team he previously represented as a substitute.

The semifinal winners will meet in the BO5 grand final on September 6.
