HEROIC have moved Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç to the bench as part of a wider restructuring of the team. The Turkish rifler has been linked with a move to FUT, potentially through a swap involving Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea, who was officially benched by FUT on July 7.
The two decisions appear closely connected. lauNX had already asked FUT to explore his options before the IEM Cologne Major, while reports have repeatedly linked him with HEROIC. A straight comparison between xfl0ud and lauNX would miss the larger picture. HEROIC are not simply exchanging one rifler for another. They have also appointed Joonas “doto” Forss as head coach and are in advanced negotiations to sign Gentle Mates AWPer Antonio “MartinezSa” Martinez. If both reported moves happen, the team will have changed its coach, one rifling position, and its primary sniper within the same window.
That suggests HEROIC are trying to change the way the roster functions rather than merely improve individual firepower. xfl0ud was one of the more experienced and structurally dependable pieces in the lineup. MartinezSa would address a different problem. HEROIC have used yxngstxr as a makeshift AWPer since Alkaren was removed from the active lineup because of visa issues. MartinezSa has been a dedicated sniper throughout his career and posted a 1.14 rating with Gentle Mates, so his arrival would restore a more natural role structure.
doto’s appointment ties the changes together. He previously coached HEROIC’s academy roster, which means the organization is choosing someone already familiar with its internal development system. His task would not only be to integrate new players, but to decide how an aggressive rifler like lauNX, a dedicated AWPer, and the existing core fit into one coherent style.
