New-Look Liquid Stun Vitality in BLAST Bounty Debut

Team Liquid opened their new CS2 chapter with a 2–0 victory over Vitality in the first round of BLAST Bounty Season 2. Liquid won Anubis 13–10 and Nuke 13–9 after deliberately selecting one of the tournament’s leading teams as their opponent.

The series marked the debuts of in-game leader Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and 17-year-old AWPer Georgi “Jorko” Mitev. They replaced the benched Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak following Liquid’s difficult first half of 2026.

Liquid began by producing six CT rounds on Anubis despite losing both pistol rounds. JT led the team with a 1.27 rating as Liquid converted their own map pick without relying on an early economic advantage.

Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski then controlled Nuke with a 2.01 rating. He finished the series on 42–27 with a 1.52 overall rating, while Jorko recorded a promising 1.24 in his first tier-one match for the organization.

The defeat eliminated Vitality from the tournament and ended their run of 24 consecutive playoff appearances.

Winio Analysis

The result does not prove that Liquid’s rebuild has succeeded, but it immediately supports the reasoning behind it. Their previous roster regularly struggled to create productive attacking rounds. Against Vitality, the team instead played with clearer initiative and received useful contributions from every role.

JT’s existing relationship with EliGE is particularly important. EliGE produced one of his strongest recent maps on Nuke, suggesting that returning to a familiar calling structure may help Liquid extract more value from their most aggressive rifler.

Jorko also passed a difficult first test without needing to carry the team. That is arguably the healthier sign: Liquid’s victory came from a functioning collective rather than an unsustainable debut performance from one newcomer.

Vitality’s elimination should still be treated carefully. BLAST Bounty has repeatedly produced unusual online results, and a single loss does not erase the team’s established level. For Liquid, however, beating Vitality across two regulation maps provides credible evidence that the rebuild has improved more than just the names on the roster.
