Spirit end Liquid’s perfect run—but Jorko survives the LAN test

Spirit eliminated Liquid from the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals with a controlled 2–0 victory. They won Dust2 13–7 and Liquid’s Anubis pick 13–5 to secure a place in the semifinals.

The result ended Liquid’s perfect start with their rebuilt roster. JT’s team had reached Malta without dropping a map after 2–0 victories over Vitality and G2, but their first elite LAN opponent exposed the distance still separating early promise from title contention.

Liquid could not reproduce their online form

Liquid began Dust2 with a 2–0 lead, but Spirit quickly took control and produced eight rounds on the attacking side. Liquid never established enough defensive stability to threaten a comeback after the break.

Anubis was even more decisive. Liquid managed only three CT rounds on their own pick, allowing Spirit to build an advantage that was never seriously challenged.

The biggest difference came from the teams’ established stars. donk recorded 42 kills, 107.4 ADR and a 1.76 rating across the series. Liquid received much less impact from their experienced core: NAF finished with a 0.54 rating, while JT and malbsMd posted 0.69 and 0.83 respectively.

Jorko provides the main positive

Jorko was the only Liquid player to maintain consistent pressure. The 17-year-old AWPer produced a 1.62 rating on Dust2 and finished the series with 27 kills, 27 deaths and a team-leading 1.16 rating.

His performance included several difficult clutches and remained composed despite the growing deficit. Even on Anubis, where Liquid’s structure repeatedly failed, Jorko continued to create individual opportunities.

That does not mean Liquid have already solved their AWPer position. Two LAN maps remain an extremely small sample, but performing against Spirit and sh1ro is a more meaningful test than dominating weaker online opposition.

Winio analysis

The defeat does not erase Liquid’s victories over Vitality and G2. It does, however, place them in a more realistic context. The rebuilt roster can already punish strong teams online, but it is not yet stable enough to reproduce that level against an organized elite opponent on LAN.

Spirit controlled both maps without requiring exceptional performances from the entire lineup. donk supplied the decisive firepower, while Liquid’s veterans failed to give Jorko enough support for his individual moments to affect the result.

For Liquid, the tournament therefore ends with two different conclusions. The team remains an unfinished project whose online results arrived faster than its LAN reliability. At the same time, Jorko passed the most difficult individual test of his first event and gave Liquid a credible piece around which to continue the rebuild.
