Team Spirit Win EWC 2026 CS2 Grand Final

Team Spirit have won the Esports World Cup 2026 Counter-Strike 2 title after defeating FUT 3-1 in the best-of-five Grand Final.

Spirit earned $600,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points for the victory, while Danil "donk" Kryshkovets received the tournament MVP award.

FUT Take the Opening Map

FUT introduced the first surprise during the veto by picking Cache, a map they had not played at the tournament before the final.

The decision worked. FUT won their pick 13-10, with xfl0ud recording a 1.62 rating and winning nine of his 13 opening duels against donk.

Spirit responded on Anubis, but only after allowing an 11-5 lead to disappear. FUT forced overtime before Spirit recovered and closed the map 16-13.

Ancient produced another overtime battle. FUT reached map point, but Spirit survived the pressure and extended their winning streak on the map to 11 with a 16-14 victory.

Nuke was completely different. Spirit built a 10-2 lead on the CT side and finished the series with a dominant 13-5 win.

• Ancient: FUT 14-16 Spirit
• Nuke: FUT 5-13 Spirit

Two overtime maps decided the direction of the final. FUT had opportunities to take control of the series, but Spirit were more efficient in the highest-pressure rounds and eventually converted their deeper map pool into a comfortable finish on Nuke.

From Losing to JiJieHao to Lifting the Trophy

Spirit's tournament began with one of the biggest upsets of the group stage. The team lost 10-13 to JiJieHao on Mirage and immediately dropped into the lower bracket.

Spirit did not lose another series.

They recovered against Luminosity and BIG before defeating B8, Vitality, Legacy and FUT in the playoffs. The turnaround from the opening loss to the championship took just 11 days.

donk Named EWC 2026 MVP

donk entered the final as the leading candidate for the individual award and secured the MVP medal after helping Spirit recover from their defeat on Cache.

The award adds another major individual achievement to the rifler's collection and completes a championship run in which Spirit eliminated Vitality for the first time in two years.

Two World Titles for Team Spirit in One Day

August 23 also became a historic day for the entire Team Spirit organization.

Hours before the CS2 roster lifted the EWC trophy in Paris, Spirit's Dota 2 team defeated TEAM VISION 3-2 in The International 2026 Grand Final. The result brought the organization its third Aegis of Champions.

One organization won two of esports' biggest international trophies on the same day.
